Go Bog Snorkeling
Attention pagans! The Neuadd Arms Hotel's annual Bog Snorkeling championship is for you. Every August Bank holiday, people flock to Llanwrtyd Wells from all over Wales (and increasingly, from England) to enter the Bog Snorkeling race. The bog, up on the mountain above the hotel, has a 60-meter-long trench cut into it. Competitors must swim two lengths, face down using only a snorkel for breathing, through the murky water. Bring your own snorkel and flippers (and be in reasonably good shape). You'll have to be fit to win—the fastest time so far is two minutes and eleven seconds. Call 01591-610236 to sign up.
