Tahoe Alpine Skiing

Diamond Peak
By Peter Oliver
Diamond Peak

For a small ski area, Diamond Peak is surprisingly big, standing 1,840 vertical feet tall. What I like about Diamond, however, are (1) the views of Tahoe, and (2) the cross-country skiing. Stay in nearby Incline Village, ski downhill in the morning and cross-country in the afternoon, and you have the makings of a pretty darned good low-key weekend getaway. After two Diamond days, however, I think I'd be itching for more. The mountain is big, but not that big.
