Drive Huskies in Finland
By Bertil Lintner

Drive your own team of huskies across miles of sparkling, snow-covered wilderness in northern Finland. Head to the northern town of Rovaniemi, where you can sign on for a guided trip through Finnish wilderness. The long twilight hours color the Finnish sky with hues of blue, creating an almost fairytale-like atmosphere. Spend a day behind the sled, then finish the chill-inducing trip with a real Finnish sauna—a few hours of steam, a roll in the snow, and you'll be ready for another day.

No prior sledding experience is necessary—guides walk from basic lessons to the art of driving your own team—but a bit of bravado may help: Average daytime temperatures from December to February run from -5 Celsius to -3 Celsius, while nighttime temperatures drop to -40.
