More Info: Georgetown Loop Railroad

Completed in 1884, this stretch of narrow-gauge track was the engineering marvel of its day. The "corkscrew" route, connecting the historic mining towns of Georgetown and Silver Plume, includes steep curves, a gain of 600 feet in elevation, and four bridges—thrilling for all ages. The train is part of the Georgetown Loop Historic Mining & Railroad Park. Buy a combo ticket and tour Lebanon Silver Mine en route (bring a jacket; the mine is about 44 degrees, even in summer). The railroad is open late May to mid-October.
