Autumn is a celebrated time of year in New England, when the countryside transforms into a kaleidoscope of blazing golds, oranges, and crimsons. The 65-mile Mohawk Trail is one of Massachusetts' most popular scenic foliage drives, and for good reason. The hairpin turn high above North Adams, the 10-mile drive to the summit of Mount Greylock, Millers Falls, and the Bissell Covered Bridge are but a few of the highlights. If you'd rather hike than drive, head north for Vermont. Feel the crunch of leaves with every step and experience the vibrant colors in the bright sun. For a taste of salt, take in the fiery colors of peak fall foliage along the coast and on the islands of Maine. Come evening, unwind with some fresh lobster in a traditional New England Inn.
