Top Ten Spots for Experiencing Sharks

Pacific and Indian Oceans: Red Sea

The Red Sea harbors a cornucopia of shark species: black fin reef, black tip reef, white tip reef, silver tip, oceanic white tip, grey reef, whale, hammerhead, and tiger sharks—just to name a few.

The most popular diving area is the Ras Mohammed region at the southernmost tip of the Sinai Peninsula. Intricate reef structures and varying depths here lend to the amazing diversity.

This site is one of the best in the Red Sea, and as a result, gets busy with diving activity. Shark Reef and Jolanda Reef are where the action is—the two are peaks from the same coral seamount with steeps walls that attract hundreds of marine species.
