Track Tigers in Royal Bardia

Go bananas in Royal Bardia National Park. (Sherpa)

If you've got a bit more time and a bit more money, consider skipping Chitwan in favor of Royal Bardia National Park. Located in west-central Nepal, this park is much less developed than Chitwan and consequently the wildlife sightings are often far more thrilling. Most explorations of this park are done from the back of trained elephants, and if you're lucky you might spot a tiger. If you aren't so lucky you might even get chased by a wild elephant. There's also a very healthy population of rhinos that have been transplanted here from Chitwan. The birdwatching is great, too.
