Missoula, Montana, is a great place to ride bikes. Nestled in the Rocky Mountains, this moderate-size university community is an outdoor enthusiast's dream. At an elevation of 3,200 feet, summer days are pleasant and in the low 80s, and evenings are cool and in the 50s. There is an 80 percent chance of sunshine in July and August.

Missoula has been known as the "Bicycle Town" for over 20 years. Home to the national recreational cycling organization, Adventure Cycling Association, Missoula also has four active bicycle clubs and supports six cycling shops. Locals can be seen riding all over town and in all kinds of weather.

If you are visiting Missoula, be sure to bring your bike along or stop at one of the shops to rent one for the afternoon.
