Florida Bay is the sparkling expanse of water that lies between the Everglades and the grand hook of the keys. The wildlife in this region is unsurpassed: You can visit the distinctive Key Deer National Wildlife Refuge, coral reefs, the Lignumvitae Key Botanical Site, and of course, the always hopping Everglades.

If you like your vacations with a night or two out on the town, this destination amply provides the opportunity. Ernest Hemingway and Tennessee Williams used to come down this way to write, fish, and drink—and their tradition lives on in the party town of Key West, which sports an lively party and performance scene.
