Directions to the Office: From Tishomingo, Oklahoma, take State Highway 99 eight miles N, then W five miles on State Highway 7. Fishery Resources Office is located at Tishomingo NFH just across Pennington Creek bridge.
Primary Functions: Provides technical expertise to National Wildlife Refuges and other agencies restoring, maintaining, or improving fishery resources in Oklahoma and north Texas. Primary fish species include paddlefish, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass and channel catfish. Also provides technical expertise to benefit aquaculture industry.
Habitat: Management areas include deciduous woodland of eastern Oklahoma, tallgrass prairie of central Oklahoma, short-grass prairie of western Oklahoma and northern Texas, and playa lakes of Texas panhandle. Aquatic habitats range from stock ponds to mainstream reservoirs and from streams to large rivers.
Recreation and Education: Fishing in Pennington Creek and wildlife observation. Literature and video tapes available on fish farming and zebra mussels.
