Many call the elephant the real king of the jungle; after all, not even lions have the nerve to prey on a two-ton beast. So hop onto the throne and trot into the swamps of Botswana's Okavango Delta. It ain't cheap, but those who can afford it will have an unforgettable experience. You head out from the famous Abu Camp with a herd of trained African elephants, riding on the adults while their young trot alongside. The guides have built trust with the elephants (mostly rehabilitees from circuses in Europe and North America), and you will too. And everything is laid on in the most luxurious style. The only drawback, sadly, is the attitude of the camp owner Randall Moore. Aware that he is offering something unique, he can be rude to clients. Very simply, stay out of his way and hang with the guides, who are universally charming.
