Latin name: Arisaema triphyllum
Flower: The actual flower is hard to find on this plant. It is at the bottom of the spadix ("Jack"), which is hidden by the flaplike spathe.
Average bloom season: April to late June
Leaves and stems: There are usually two leaves, divided into three or five segments, rising from the base of the plant and growing one to three feet in height.
Range in AT states: Georgia to Maine
Most likely AT locations: Between Wayah Gap and Nantahala River in North Carolina; Sawtooth Ridge in southwest Virginia; Bald Knob in central Virginia; throughout Shenandoah National Park.
