Outdoor Green Bay
Green Bay Highlights
- Lush forests and abundant wildlife greet nature lovers as they take to the trails for a scenic hike, catch some rays on the beach, or set up camp at one of the many campgrounds for a night under the stars.
- Hop aboard a fishing charter in search of chinook and coho salmon, and steelhead and brown trout. Or explore the inland lakes and streams for some of the best bass and northern pike fishing in the state. Shore fishing is also abundant from river banks or a Lake Michigan pier.
- More than 250 different bird species have been spotted at the Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary, a migration hotspot at the foot of the bay. An on-site research and rehabilitation center also offers an opportunity for close-up looks at waterfowl and other marshy creatures.
- Viewing blinds and an observation tower attract birders to the L.H. Barkhausen Waterfowl Preserve five miles north of town, particularly for the fall migration peak during the first half of October.
