ordinary meat tenderizer, applied as a wet paste on the bite and rubbed gently in for several minutes, will greatly relieve the pain and swelling of a spider bite. there is an enzyme in the meat tenderizer that breaks down protein and the spider toxin is a protein. It also works for jellyfish stings, and some other insect bites. I also take it to the beach with me.
