White Mountain National Forest

Oliverian/Downes Brook Ski Trail

This trail system provides two loops, one on the east near Oliverian Brook and the other on the west near Downes Brook. A trail that follows the abandoned logging railroad connects the loops. The East Loop is approximately 2 miles and the West Loop is about 1 mile. The West Loop will accommodate novice to intermediate skiers, while the East Loop is a bit more challenging, with a few hills where caution is advised. For optimum trail conditions, please leave dogs at home.

Access: From the Saco Ranger Station proceed west on the Kancamagus Highway toward Lincoln. In approximately 12 1/2 miles a cross-country skier symbol will be visible on your left (south of the highway). This indicates access to a 10-car parking area, which is the starting point for the East Loop . Approximately 1 1/2 miles farther west on the Kancamagus Highway another skier symbol designates access to the 10-car West Loop Parking area.
