The Siskiyou National Forest contains campgrounds located in quiet, scenic areas that provide the visitor an opportunity to get away from the city bustle. Forest campgrounds are available on a first-come, first- served basis, with a 14-day limit on camping for each Ranger District land area during a calendar year. Most of the Forest's campgrounds are closed after Labor Day or operate on a limited basis through October (hunting season). The campgrounds remain closed during the winter months and reopen by Memorial Day weekend for the summer season.
The area also has a wide variety of state parks and campgrounds all within a short drive of Grants Pass. Valley of the Rogue State Park is located about 12 miles southeast of Grants Pass and is open year-round. Their phone number is 503-582-1118. To make a reservation at other Oregon State Parks, call 503-238-7488 between the first Monday of March through Labor Day weekend. Also available are campsites in the Josephine County Parks. Contact them at 503-474-5285 for camping information.
