Campgrounds: North Cascades National Park does not have individual camping reservations. Most vehicle access campgrounds are available on a first-come, first-served basis. However, both the adjacent national forests—Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie, Okanogan, and Wenatchee—and Washington state parks have expanded their telephone reservation systems. National forest campground reservations can be made by calling. Washington state parks are at 800-280-CAMP; for information call 800-233-0321.

Lodging: Remote accommodations in the North Cascades include:

Ross Lake Resort
Rockport, WA 98283
206-386-4437

North Cascades Stehekin Lodge
Box 457
Stehekin, WA 98816
509-682-4494

Baker Lake Resort
888-711-3033

Many other private accommodations are available in adjacent communities. Listings are available from visitor information or Chamber of Commerce offices.

Backpacking: Since very few trail shelters are available, it is wise to carry a lightweight plastic tarp or nylon tent for rain protection. Please don't ditch around your shelter or tent during wet weather. Ditching will cause long-term damage to the environment of the backcountry. Camping is permitted only at designated campsites or not less than 1/2 mile from trails and one mile from established campsites if on cross-country routes. Camping is prohibited in the fragile alpine and subalpine meadows.
