Many people tour the North Cascades Highway and Mt. Baker Scenic Byway by bicycle. The remote beauty of these routes offers a unique and challenging experience. Be well-supplied with water, food, and warm, waterproof clothing. Travel single file on the right edge of the road, use reflectors, and wear bright clothing.

Most side roads are rugged enough for the most avid mountain biker. The Stehekin Valley Road in Lake Chelan National Recreation Area is popular with bikers. You can ferry your bike in, or you can rent one in town.

Hiking trails are not designed for bike use; most trails are closed to motorbikes and bicycles.

There are also some nearby pleasant road-biking opportunities along the southern shores of Lake Chelan and the Columbia River, and throughout the Okanogan region.
