Top Ten National Park Campgrounds

Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming

The Grand Tetons, just south of Yellowstone, are the Rocky Mountains signature peaks. This is Greater Yellowstone country: the Rockies at their most wild. Lakes, high peaks, the Snake River.

Grand Teton has five park operated campgrounds. All allow RVs and trailers with the exception of Jenny Lake campground, which is tents-only. Indeed, Jenny Lake is the star campground, a small, tents-only facility on beautiful Jenny Lake that is full by eight in the morning. Nice place if you can get in, but be warned.

If you're after pure middle-class comfort, Colter Bay has both larger campsites and showers and a laundry. If you're in an RV but don't like the big city atmosphere of the larger parks, try Lizard Creek in the park's more isolated northern end. All campground sites are first-come-first-serve and fill up quickly each day during summer months.
