For a classic Floridian angling adventure, head straight to the Everglades. Anglers can cast a lure for freshwater bass and bream on inland rivers and creeks, or head for the wide-open ocean and try for six foot tarpon. Start with Hells Bay Canoe Trail for Largemouth Bass. Hunt the mighty tarpon in Ten Thousand Islands. These night feeders can be found hunting the area's artificial reefs after dark. Cast a reel on Florida's largest lake, the grand Okeechobee. One of the state's top producing lakes, this 448,000-acre body of water is world-famous for outstanding bass, bream, and crappie fishing. Fish Lake Trafford in Collier County, a 1,500-acre natural body of water with an excellent sport fishery consisting of largemouth bass, bream, crappie, and catfish. Head to Biscayne National Park home to more than 250 species of fishfor exceptional fishing year-round. On bay side you'll find snapper, grouper, and sea trout, and on the ocean side, hogfish and tuna.
