Green Mountain GambolsPico Peak
Difficulty: Strenuous Ski trails will never be far away as you climb up to Pico Peak. The summit is shared with the Pico Peak Ski Resort chair lift, but this hike rewards you for your effort with fine views from the ski-way and summit of this 3,957 foot peak. The Hike From the trailhead on US 4 in Sherburne Pass, follow the A.T. south. You will pass by a side trail to the Pico alpine slide. Continue following the A.T. uphill to Pico Camp, a cabin maintained as a hiker shelter at mile 2.5. Water is available from a small spring a short distance beyond the shelter. Behind the camp, the steep blue blazed Pico Link Trail climbs the remaining .4 mile to the summit of Pico Peak. Return by way of the Pico Link Trail and the A.T. to Sherburne Pass. Trailhead Directions The trail crosses Sherburne Pass on US 4, 10.3 miles east of Rutland at the Inn at Long Trail.
