Top Ten Rocky Mountain AdventuresFishing
By Anne Schlitt
The Rocky Mountain waterways teem with trout just daring you to try and catch them. Quality fishing abounds. Three of the best? The Madison River in Montana gives the discerning flyfisher a variety of choices in moods, water types, and insect hatches. The trout are plentiful but picky, and the best times to fish are spring and fall. Idaho's Silver Creek stymies with its crosscurrents but pleases with its beauty and cold purity. The Rio Grande in Colorado can't be beat for solitude, rainbow and brown trout, and wild scenery. Whichever river you choose, be sure to pack your best fish foolers, 'cause these trout can be clever.
