It's the perfect day-long climb: Longs Peak, outside of Winter Park, offers several options, one of which is a hearty hike to its summit, where the peak views are spectacular.

It's all about the views: Head to Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park and walk along the rim. These relatively easy routes will get you some amazing views into the canyon. Looking for a challenge? Walk down into the canyon itself.

Check out the gorgeous Maroon Bells on the Maroon-Snowmass Trail outside Aspen. This trail crosses over Buckskin Pass to Crater Lake, with heart-thumping views of the Maroon Bells, Alpine lakes, and wildflower-filled meadows along the way.

Take on Colorado's highest peak, the 14,333-foot Mount Elbert, in San Isabel National Forest. Try the alternative Black Cloud Trail—the 10-mile round-trip sees far fewer hiking boots than the heavily used North and South Mount Elbert Trails.

Head to San Isabel National Forest and hike part of the Continental Divide Trail, the 3,100-mile route that runs from Canada to Mexico and through the stunning scenery of this forest.
