There is variety of wildlife on the Bighorn National Forest. Small creatures to observe are the porcupine, gopher, beaver, yellow-bellied marmot, and a variety of rabbits and squirrels. Larger animals include: moose, elk, mule and White-tailed deer, Bighorn sheep, black bear, bobcat, red fox and coyotes. Trout can be caught in almost any stream or lake on the Forest. Species include: brook brown, cutthroat, golden, and lake rainbow.
