Yosemite National Park Photo Gallery

The majestic Half Dome inspired writer and naturalist John Muir, whose work helped lead to the creation of the national park system. The granite dome continues to inspire visitors, who come to Yosemite National Park by the millions each year, making it one of the most popular parks in the nation.  

Rising high above Yosemite Valley, the granite cliff known as El Capitan is one of the park's most popular features, and a favorite among rock climbers.

Stark granite cliffs in Yosemite's notoriously-hard-to-navigate Tenaya Canyon. Known for being treacherous in spring when water levels are high, the canyon has no marked or maintained trails.  

Reaching 2,425 feet from the top of the upper falls, through the middle cascades, and down to the lowest plunge pool (pictured here), Yosemite Falls is the tallest measured waterfall in North America.
