North Cascades National Park Photo Gallery

With peaks over 10,000 feet, parts of 684,000-acre North Cascade National Park loom higher than the clouds.  

Campers should consider setting up along the Easy Pass Trail, considered by many one of the most superb parts of the North Cascades.  

Lake Chelan is the largest freshwater lake in Washington state and, at nearly 1,500 feet deep, the third-deepest lake in the U.S.  

Mountain goats are among the permanent residents of the North Cascades. Their strong forequaters, pliable hooves, and wooly 'subfur' help them endure the harsh conditions of their rugged environment.  

Hidden Lake Trail is one of the most popular in the North Cascades with spectacular views, a historic fire lookout, and, as its name hints, a high mountain lake.  

At just over 9,000 feet, Mount Logan is the fourth-highest peak in the park.  

A hiker takes in a splendid view of Sourdough Mountain and surrounding peaks from one of the many fire lookouts in the park.  

The Sahale Arm Trail ascends steeply and eventually offers magnificent views of numerous peaks, including Mt. Rainier, on a clear day.  

Wildflowers grow in a meadow along Copper Ridge, a popular area for backpackers, day hikers, and trail runners.
