Mount Rainier National Park Photo Gallery

One of our nation's oldest parks, Washington's Mount Rainier National Park is centered on its namesake, an active volcano that at 14,411 feet dominates the landscape for miles around. More than 26 glaciers radiate from Mount Rainier's soaring peak. Elsewhere in the park are subalpine landscapes and old-growth forests that have stood for anywhere from 100 to 1,000 years.  

The subalpine meadows in the park's Sunrise area are immensely popular for their picturesque beauty.

Rainier's Emmons Glacier is, by area, the largest glacier in the United States. (The largest by volume, Carbon Glacier, is also found in the park.)

Found in the portion of the park known as Paradise, the stunning Narada Falls spills 168 feet down a steep wall of basalt.
