Suwannee River State Park
Suwannee River State Park Travel Tips
- Paddle some or all of the Suwannee River Wilderness Trail, a 170-mile waterway comprising flatwater stretches, freshwater springs, historic waypoints, and interspersed river camps. The state park is one of the hubs that offer access to the river as well as nearby amenities, outfitters, and accommodations.
- Hike along the high bluffs overlooking the Suwannee on Lime Sink Run Trail, or follow the Sandhills Trail through open pine forest to Columbus Cemetery, a Civil War-era burial ground. This trail also traces an early 19th-century stagecoach route, a nice place in a peaceful natural environment to contemplate Florida's historic past.
- Drive the quiet country roads between White Springs and Suwannee River State Park, following the river for 35 miles as it courses past woods and pastureland.
