Sutter National Wildlife Refuge
Directions: From Yuba City, drive W on Highway 20 to George Washington Boulevard, turn S to Oswald Road, turn W onto Hughes Road, which bisects the refuge.
Primary Wildlife: Waterfowl present September through April. Peak populations occur during February and March. Numerous birds and mammals present year-round.
Habitat: 2,591 acres comprised of seasonal marsh, permanent ponds, watergrass, and uplands.
Recreation and Education: Wildlife observation and photography from Hughes Road. Waterfowl and pheasant hunting in designated areas.
