Steigerwald Lake National Wildlife Refuge
Directions: Located between Washington State Highway 14 and the Columbia River, just E of Washougal, Washington.
Primary Wildlife: Resting and wintering area for raptors, Canada geese, and other waterfowl. Seven varieties of marsh and water birds and riparian woodland songbirds.
Habitat: 627 acres of historic Columbia River bottomland; the area now consists of canary grass marshes, riparian woodlands, and improved pastures.
Recreation and Education: Steigerwald Lake NWR is closed to all public use until a management plan is developed for the area. The refuge can be viewed from State Highway 14.
