Nooksack River Rafting
The Nooksack gets down to business immediately with a headstrong charge down a narrow canyon strewn with logs and large boulders. Rafters will enjoy braving Class III rapids as well as several Class IV’s, before popping out into a more open stretch with impressive views of the hulk of Mount Baker and distant snow-clad peaks of the North Cascades. This river offers a fun introduction to whitewater rafting amidst scenery that’s second to none. Keep your eyes peeled for bald eagles, otters, and elk on the riverbanks. Note that the Forest Service closes the Nooksack to recreational use from mid-August in order to protect the river’s spawning Chinook salmon.
