Kakahaia National Wildlife Refuge
Directions: 5 miles E of Kaunakakai along Highway 450 on the island of Molokai. Limited access; contact refuge manager.
Primary Wildlife: The endangered Hawaiian coot and the Hawaiian stilt use the refuge.
Habitat: 40 acres of freshwater pond and marsh with dense thickets of bulrush.
Recreation and Education: Persons interested in observing and photographing wildlife from refuge boundaries should arrange visits with the refuge manager. Group educational tours may be arranged.
