Jennie Lakes Wilderness
Located in the Sequoia National Forest in California.
The 10,971 acre Jennie Lakes Wilderness is a lovely mixture of lakes, meadows, forests and streams. Vegetation includes red fir, lodgepole pine, western white pine and an abundance of wildflowers in the spring. Elevation starts at 7,00 feet and reaches up to the 10,265 foot summit of Mitchell Peak. Access to this wilderness is about 80 miles east of Fresno via State Highway 180 and the General's highway. There are four trailheads on the Hume Lake Ranger District that provide access to this Wilderness: Rowen Meadow (off road 13S14), Stony Creek (off Road 14S21), Marivn Pass (off Road 14S11 ) and Jennie and Weaver Lakes are popular destination points within the Wilderness. There are 26 miles of trail within the Jennie Lakes Wilderness including a loop trail connecting both lakes. Four trails connect with Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks and provide major trail access to the parks.
