Jarbidge Wilderness
Located in the Humboldt National Forest in Nevada.
The Jarbidge Wilderness was established in 1934. At that time, it consisted of 64,827 acres. In 1989, 48,500 acres were added. The Wilderness vegetative types vary from cool desert to alpine. Within the Wilderness are several peaks over 10,000 feet in elevation. Even in the summer months, hikers and horsemen should be prepared for snow and subfreezing temperatures.
