Gates of the Mountains Wilderness
Located in the Helena National Forest in Montana.
The Gates of the Mountains Wilderness Area encompasses 28,562 acres rich in limestone cliffs and deep, rugged canyons. Despite its location barely 20 miles from downtown Helena, it remains the least used wilderness in Montana.
