Buckhorn Lake State Resort Park
Buckhorn Lake State Resort Park is located at the northern edge of the Redbird District in the Daniel Boone National Forest. Fishing and boating on Buckhorn Lake are the park's main activities.
Marina: The marina has 95 open slips, two launching ramps, rental pontoon boats, and fishing boats.
Fishing: The lake is home to largemouth and Kentucky bass, crappie, bluegill, channel catfish, and muskie.
Hiking Trails: Hikers can explore the natural beauty and resources of Buckhorn Lake with a stroll along a 1.5 mile, self-guiding, easy walking trail. And the opportunities for mountain hiking are limitless.
Getting There: The resort is 25 miles northwest of Hazard, or 124 miles southeast of Lexington.
From I-75 north, exit to I-64 east, exit at the Mountain Parkway, then exit at Campton and take KY 15 south, to KY 28 west. From I-75 south, exit at the Daniel Boone Parkway, then exit to KY 15 north to KY 28 west. From I-64 east or west, exit at the Mountain Parkway, then exit at Campton and take KY 15 south, to KY 28 west. From KY 28 west, turn onto KY 1833 to park entrance.
Lodging: Both hotel rooms and private cottages.
