Bill Williams National Wildlife Refuge
Directions: From Parker, follow Highway 95 N approximately 17 miles. Office is across from Havasu Pumping Plant on W side of road, between mile marker 160 and 161.
Primary Wildlife: Neotropical migrant birds: yellowbilled cuckoo, Bell's vireo, and southwestern willow flycatcher. Endangered species: Yuma clapper rail and razorback sucker.
Habitat: 6,105 acres consisting of cattail marshes, open lake, riparian habitat, and desert upland.
Recreation and Education: Wildlife and wildlands observation and photography, hunting, fishing, and hiking (no designated trails). Road closed periodically due to flooding.
Special Note: Largest remaining stand of cottonwood/willow forest along the lower Colorado River. Bring plenty of water, a hat, and sun protection.
