American Discovery Trail
At over 6300 miles, the American
Discovery Trail is the longest trail. It travels from coast to coast across America. Since
the Discovery Trail does not follow a chain of mountains, large sections of the trail is
on roads. Along its journey, it travels through the cities of San Francisco,
Denver, Cincinnati and Washington DC. In addition, it traverses 14 national parks, 16
national forest and over 10,000 historical and natural sites of significance.
