Once again it is the mighty Himalaya throwing down the challenge to the adventure traveler seeking rock-climbing thrills. This sport has a small but dedicated following in India, and the best place to seek out this kind of adventure is the Mountaineering Division of the government Garwhal Mandal Vikas Nigam (GMVN) near Rishikesh in Uttar Pradesh. The Division has all the requisite climbing gear, along with the odd mountain or two to get you started!
