Triple Fisherman's Knot
Slick ropes require triple the protection this knot provides when joining two ropes together.
- Wrap the free end of the first length of rope three times around the standing part of the second and push it back through the loops.
- Repeat the first step by wrapping the free end of the second rope twice around the standing part of the first rope in the opposite direction and pulling it back through the loops.
- Tighten by pulling the standing parts of the two ropes. The free ends should protrude several inches beyond the knot to prevent it from giving way when strained.
