Located in the Ouachita National Forest in Arkansas/Oklahoma.

The Upper Kiamichi River Wilderness area's 9,371 acres feature prominent steeply sloped ridges that are heavily forested with a variety of species. The Talimena Scenic Byway forms the northern border of the Wilderness area.

Directions: 1 mile north of Big Cedar, Oklahoma, on US. Hwy 259 turn right on Forest Road 6032 for 3 miles.
