Russian Wilderness

Located in the Klamath National Forest in California.

The 12,000 acre Russian Wilderness is characterized by steep, rugged slopes and ridges with broad, U-shaped glaciated valleys. Meadows, rock pinnacles, bluffs and alpine lakes in cirque basins are common. A great variety of pine, spruce and fir, are found -- especially in the Sugar Creek area. Deer, black bear and other wildlife are abundant. Rainbow, brook and brown trout inhabit the streams.
