Directions: Refuge headquarters located approximately 10 miles E of Trout Lake and 7 miles SW of Glenwood on the Glenwood-Trout Lake Road. Write for map.

Primary Wildlife: Spring migration area for Canada geese and ducks, mainly mallards and pintails. Wintering use by tundra swans, Canada geese, ducks, and bald eagles. Major nesting area for common snipe. Only known nesting area for sandhill cranes in Washington.

Habitat: 5,646 acres of marsh, meadows, grasslands, and forest. Former mountain lake is now present only in winter and early spring.

Recreation and Education: 7 Wildlife observation, study, and photography. Environmental education. Upland game, big game, and waterfowl hunting. Limited fishing for trout and bullheads. Office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Refuge personnel not always in office.
