Primary Wildlife: These rocks and islands provide habitat for very large numbers of sea birds and mammals.

Habitat: 575 acres of rocks and islands located offshore along the length of the Oregon coast. Most of the refuge is included in the Oregon Islands Wilderness.

Recreation and Education: Wildlife observation from boats and the mainland, but public access on the islands is not permitted. The refuge has been expanded by the addition of a wildlife viewing area at Coquille Point in Bandon and a viewing platform at the Simpson Reef Overlook in Shore Acres State Park. Docents are on duty at the Simpson Reef Overlook on Saturdays, Sundays, and Monday holidays from Memorial Day until Labor Day from 10 am til 4 pm.
