Directions: The refuge includes two separate tracts of land, located along Wilbur Avenue and Fulton Shipyard Road, just W of the city of Antioch, California.

Primary Wildlife: Protects critical habitat for three endangered species: Lange's metalmark butterfly, Contra Costa wallflower, and Antioch Dunes evening primrose. -- Isolated dunes ecosystem with a unique assemblage of plants, insects and reptiles.

Habitat: 67 acres of sand dunes and former dune areas. -- A major restoration project is restoring and improving dune habitat.

Recreation and Education: In order to protect the endangered species and their habitat, the refuge is closed to the public.
