Primary Function: Provide technical expertise to the San Carlos
Apache Indian Tribe, especially related to the development and maintenance of
quality cold and warm water recreational fisheries.
Habitat: 8,000 hectare San Carlos Reservoir, and all other streams
and impoundments of the San Carlos, Tohono O'Odham, Fort McDowell, and
Salt River Indian Reservations.
Recreation and Education: Reservation recreational cold and warm
water fisheries, wildlife observation, study, and photography.
Special Note: The San Carlos Indian Reservation is host to an
ongoing global climate change study focusing on the endangered Gila
topminnow in Bylas Springs.
