Big Bend Dam (Lake Sharpe)
One of six large lakes on the Missouri River. Area contains numerous village sites of early Indian culture. A visitor center contains exhibits and displays. From Sioux Falls, W on l-9O to Chamberlain, then N on SD 50.

Cold Brook Lake and Cottonwood Springs Lake
On the south fringe of the Black Hills. Visit nearby Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park, and Wind Cave National Park. About 1 mile N of Hot Springs.

Fort Randall Dam (Lake Francis Case)
On the Missouri River, the area contains many historic and archeological sites. Numerous tributary streams and their embayments afford protected boating and fishing sites. Near Pickstown on US 18.

Gavins Point Dam (Lewis and Clark Lake)
This Missouri River lake provides a tree-covered shoreline characterized by picturesque chalky bluffs in the lower segment and an interesting view of the Missouri Valley in the upper reach. From Yankton, W on SD 52.

Lake Oahe
A very large lake on the mainstream of the Missouri River. Rich in historic sites-fort, trading posts, and Lewis and Clark campsites. From Pierre, 8 miles N on SD 1804.
