Alum Creek Lake
Fort Cheshire, used by early settlers, was in this area. Located 2 miles N of Columbus off US 23 on Lewis Center Rd.

Atwood Lake
Atwood Lake Lodge, operated by the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District, provides extensive recreation facilities, including pools and ski slopes. From Dover, 7 miles N on OH 800, 9 miles E on OH 212.

Beach City Lake
The Stark Wilderness Center is located 3 miles W of dam. From New Philadelphia, 12 miles N on OH 250.

Belleville Lock & Dam
Provides a navigational pool 41.5 miles upstream to Willow Island Locks & Dam, and is an integral link in the Ohio River navigation channel located at Reedsville.

Berlin Lake
A historic area with an old stagecoach station in Deerfield. John Brown was born near here. From Deerfield, 2 miles E on OH 224.

Bolivar Dam
Near the Football Hall of Fame in Canton, a state-operated historical facility. Fort Laurens, is nearby. From Bolivar, 11 miles S on I-77, 1 mile SE on OH 212 and County Road 103.

Caesar Creek Lake
The regional visitor center for the Corps of Engineers is located at the dam. There is also a reconstructed pioneer village on the southeast side of the project. Located just E of Waynesville, on OH 73.

Charles Mill Lake
Malabar Farm, home of Louis Bromfield, a Pulitzer prize-winning novelist, is maintained near here by the state. In Mansfield, see the Kingwood Center formal gardens in bloom, April-October. From Lucas, 5 miles E on US 30, 4 miles S on OH 603.

Clarence J. Brown Dam & Reservoir
A 2,100-acre lake and Corps-operated visitors center are located outside Springfield city limits, just off OH 4.

Clendening Lake
Retained in a natural setting with no commercial development except the marina. From Uhrichsville. 15 miles S on OH 800.

Deer Creek Lake
The Pumpkin Show is held annually in October in nearby Circleville. Several prehistoric Indian sites are within the project area. From Columbus, SW on I-71, SW on US 62, S on OH 207.

Delaware Lake
Delaware Lake offers Corps, state park, and state wildlife area recreational opportunities. From Columbus, 35 miles N on US 23.

Dillon Lake
Prehistoric Indian burial grounds have been identified in this area. From Zanesville, 4 miles NW on OH 146.

Dover Dam
No permanent pool, but there are day-use facilities along the river. Restored village of Zoar is 5 miles N of dam. Nearby attractions include Shoebrunn State Park, operated by the Ohio Historical Society, and Warther Museum with 56 hard-carved, operating, miniature locomotives. From Dover, 4 miles NE on OH 800.

Hannibal Lock & Dam
This modern structure replaces three old wicket-type dams which served river traffic for more than 70 years. Several full-size wickets and a workboat, used to operate them, are displayed at the visitor center, located off OH 7 at Hannibal.

Leesville Lake
A popular camping spot for youth and church groups. From New Philadelphia, 13 miles E on OH 39, 4 miles SE on OH 212.

Meldahl Lock & Dam
Provides a navigation channel nine-foot deep along a 95-mile stretch of the Ohio River to the Greenup Lock & Dam. It is one of the steps in the "water stairway" which permits traffic to move up and down the Ohio River on a year-round basis. Located on US 52 at Chilo.

Michael J. Kirwan Dam & Reservoir
Burial grounds of an Indian tribe known as "Mound Builders" are in evidence in the Silver Creek area. From Warren, 13 miles W on OH 5. Follow signs to dam.

Mohawk Dam
There is no permanent pool but day-use and camping facilities are available along the river. Roscoe Village, a restored and historical canal town, is located near Coshocton. From Coshocton, 13 miles W on US 36, 2 miles NW on OH 715.

Mohicanville Lake
The lake has no permanent pool. Located on Ashland County Road 175, 14 miles S of Ashland and 10 miles N of Londonville.

Mosquito Creek Lake
Canada geese are raised in a game refuge at the north end of the lake. From Cortland, 2 miles W on OH 305.

New Cumberland Lock & Dam
A modern structure with a 1,200-foot - by-110-foot main chamber enables large tows to make quick passage through the lock. Located on OH 7, 9 miles N of Steubenville.

North Branch of Kokosing Lake
A small, quiet fishing lake located 1.5 miles from Fredericktown, just off OH 13.

Paint Creek Lake
Impressive, prehistoric Indian sites in the central Scioto River basin are in the vicinity of this lake. Located 24 miles SW of Chillicothe, off US 50.

Piedmont Lake
Salt Fork Lodge and State Park are near this 2,700-acre lake. From Cambridge, 24 miles NE on US 22.

Pleasant Hill Lake
Louis Bromfield's home, Malabar Farm, is maintained by the State Historical Society at the upper end of reservoir. Mohican State Park is downstream of dam. From Lucas, 6 miles S on OH 60, then SW on OH 95.

Senecaville Lake
One of the attractions is a Federal fish hatchery. Salt Fork Lodge and State Park are near the lake. From Cambridge, 6 miles S on I-77, 6 miles E on OH 313.

Tappan Lake
Near a restored Indian village at Shoebrunn State Park and the outdoor historical drama, "Trumpet in the Land." From Uhrichsville, 6 miles E on US 250.

Tom Jenkins Dam (Burr Oak Lake)
Within an hour's drive of the caves and cliffs of Hocking Hills State Park. From Athens, 20 miles N on US 33 and OH 13.

West Fork of Mill Creek Lake
The project features Hamilton County Park District campgrounds and naturalist services. Located in Cincinnati, W on I-275 to Winton Road, S to park.

William H. Harsha Lake
A 2,160-acre lake made popular by Cincinnati boaters, also the site of two abandoned gold mines. Located SE of Batavia just S of OH 32.

Willow Island Lock & Dam
This new facility replaces three obsolete locks and dams and provides a navigable pool to Hannibal Locks & Dam on the Ohio River. The locks are located across the river from Willow Island, WV.

Wills Creek Lake
A 900-acre lake near Roscoe Village, a restored town on the Ohio-Erie Canal. From Coshocton, 7 miles S on OH 76, 2 miles SW on county road 486.
