Abiquiu Dam
This 5,200-surface-acre reservoir offers some of the finest fishing in northern New Mexico. Reptile fossils 200 million years old have been found in the area. The area includes a fine panoramic view of the Cerro Pedernal from the dam. From Espanola, 30 miles W on US 84, 2 miles S on NM 96.

Cochiti Lake
On the Rio Grande about halfway between Santa Fe and Albuquerque, 14 miles from junction of NM 22 and I-25 (US 85). Adjacent Indian land is closed to public.

Conchas Lake
34 miles NW of Tucumcari on NM 104.

Galisteo Dam
Day use facilities only. Received 1559 visitors last year.

Jemez Canyon Dam


Santa Rosa Lake
Impounds the Pecos River approximately 121 miles east of Albuquerque. Follow direction signs through city of Santa Rosa to lake. The visitor center contains an interesting display on project area.
