U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - Connecticut Projects
Black Rock Lake
Located next to Black Rock State Park, the project is crossed by a portion of the Mattatuck Trail. The 21-acre lake is stocked with trout by the State. 2 miles W of Thomaston on CN 109.
Colebrook River Lake
A 750-acre lake is used as a standby water supply, and is available seasonally for fishing and boating. The lake is stocked with trout. A large boat ramp is available. From Winsted, 6 miles N on CN 8.
Hancock Brook Lake
The project includes a shallow 40-acre lake and streamside environment good for canoeing, fishing, and hunting. From Plymouth, take CN 262 S to South Main Street to lake.
Hop Brook Lake
A popular day-use area with swimming and picnicking facilities, athletic field and picnic shelter. The 21-acre lake is stocked with trout by the state. From Naugatuck, 3 miles N on CN 63.
Mansfield Hollow Lake
A popular day-use park is managed by the state around a 450-acre lake. A large picnic area and playfields serve as a nucleus to miles of hiking and cross-country skiing trails. Boat ramp provided. Hunting and fishing opportunities available. From Hartford, I-84 and US 6 to CN 195
Northfield Brook Lake
A scenic day-use park offers swimming in the 7-acre lake, picnicking and hiking. Reservoir area is open for fishing and hunting. From Thomaston, 2 miles N on CN 254.
Thomaston Dam
Vista picnic area offers visitors an excellent view of the dam and portions of the Naugatuck River Valley. The streamside environment is popular for fishing, hunting, trail bike riding, and snowmobiling. From Thomaston, N on CN 222 to dam.
West Thompson Lake
Excellent camping (seasonal) in a rustic campground with wooded sites near 200-acre lake. Modern bathroom with hot showers, trailer dump station and resident campground attendants. Boat ramp (5 mph limit for boats), picnic area, hunting, fishing, and hiking opportunities available. From I-395 exit 99, take CN 200 to CN 193. Follow signs.
